Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) Data Scientist to join our team. As an OSINT Data Scientist, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various open sources to extract actionable insights and support decision-making processes. You will utilize advanced data mining techniques, machine learning algorithms, and statistical methods to derive meaningful conclusions from vast amounts of unstructured data available in the public domain.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and curate open-source data from a variety of online platforms, including social media, forums, news sites, and other public sources.
- Develop and implement data collection strategies and tools to efficiently gather relevant information for analysis.
- Clean, preprocess, and organize large datasets to ensure data quality and usability.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques, including natural language processing (NLP), sentiment analysis, and network analysis, to extract insights and trends from unstructured data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop tailored solutions to meet specific intelligence needs.
- Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast trends, identify emerging threats, and support strategic decision-making.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in OSINT methodologies, tools, and technologies, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance intelligence analysis capabilities.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner through reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal regulations governing the collection and use of open-source intelligence data.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information, particularly when handling classified or sensitive data.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred.
- Proven experience working in a data science or intelligence analysis role, with a focus on open-source intelligence.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, with experience in data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Demonstrated expertise in data mining, text analytics, and machine learning techniques, with hands-on experience in applying these methods to real-world problems.
- Familiarity with OSINT tools and platforms, such as Maltego, Palantir, or Analyst’s Notebook, and proficiency in conducting online investigations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to extract actionable insights from complex and unstructured data sources.
- Experience working with large datasets and databases, including SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and present findings to stakeholders.
- Active TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) security clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of intelligence methodologies, tradecraft, and regulations governing intelligence operations is a plus
